Coming Attractions - 2016

Sonrise Worship @ 7 a.m. - Daniel Miear will lead us to praise God and enjoy the wonder of new life found in Jesus Christ! Our choir will celebrate with the Cantata, "Jesus, Only Jesus!" at 11 a.m. and a sermon from our pastor, "Skeptics and the Resurrection!".  Join with us to glorify the crucified and resurrected One, the Lord Jesus Christ!

Flat Creek is a missionary church committed to expository preaching/teaching and is continually involved in outreach.  The following opportunities exist for service to our Lord Jesus Christ and aid to the people of God:

  • Expository preaching focus in the epistle of Paul to the church at Rome, the gospel of Grace. During 2016 the messages will be from Romans on the Gospel of God to the Entire World!

Worship with the Flat Creek family during 2016 and celebrate our Savior and worship His name above all others.

Please call Flat Creek church office @ 434-237-1917 for further information.

Flat Creek also provides Biblically based and theologically sound expositional Bible teaching & learning opportunities for the Lynchburg area.  For example;

  • Our Ladies are studying in early 2016 study, the Book of Ruth.
  • Graduated Sunday School classes for all ages @ 9:45 a.m. Sunday mornings
  • Kid's Korral for children ages 4-11 and "Children Desiring God" during Worship for Grades 2 and under.
  • Sunday Evening: Word of Life for children from 1st – 6th grade & B.O.M. (Beacons for the Master) Squad for teen-agers.
  • March to Maturity -  During the Summer Sunday Evening months we will learn from a number of great bible preachers from 9 Marks and the Gospel Coalition.  Join us as we learn of this vital teaching from our Lord Jesus.
  • Membership Matters Training - focused on providing new believers and prospective members with the fundamentals of our Faith and history of Flat Creek. Now studying about "Elders" and our responsibility to lead God's people.
  • On Wednesday evenings be a part of Southern Baptist Missions groups that train and serve to extend the Great Commission. Our adults have completed  expositional studies on the Pastoral Epistles, 1 & 2 Timothy, and Titus, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. We are now studying Genesis!
  • Street Lights is a young adult small group that meets every other Thursday evening to study the Word and minister to the Hand's Up shelter in Lynchburg, Va. As Tim Glick, Willy Belton, and others minister in the Word, lives are being converted and new opportunities for ministry uncovered.  The power of the gospel to change lives is as relevant today as ever.

All of our activities and opportunities are important, but none more so than Sunday morning worship.  Flat Creek is a place where the Truth of the Word of God is faithfully preached and taught, the Christian ordinances of believer's baptism and Lord's Supper are regularly celebrated, and our deacons and staff watch over the spiritual and temporal welfare of the people.  Gather with us on the Lord’s day to worship Him in prayer, giving, celebration in music, and expository proclamation of God’s Word.
